Yesterday we went to the Brunner Mine as a class trip. We learnt so much history about this mine.
We had to dress up as a miner and the girls dressed up as the widows. In this photo we are standing beside a picture of the mines rescue team, Mrs Mears told us that the lamps that they are holding were the safest lamps to enter the mine with but they cut costs so some miners went down the mine with a naked flames which was very dangerous.

It is thought that the use of naked flame was one of the main reasons for the explosion which is very sad. What was your favourite activity?
