My Super Power DLO

This week on Monday me and my class made a DLO about our super powers. Our super power is something that we are good at. I found this activity quite easy to do. The hardest part was trying to figure out what I'm good at. It is much easier to tell other people what they are good at than to talk about yourself.  Once we had thought of our super power we had to think of all of the skills we used and were learning when we were doing this activity. Here is mine...

Current Events - AREA 51 RAID TOMORROW

Today my class had to do a blog post  about some thing that had to be from a news site so I chose this because it will be hopefuly be happening tomorrow on the 20th of September. Here is some info about it.

It was supposed to be a fun joke. Create an event on Facebook that was so absurd, everyone would have a laugh, see a meme and then move on with their lives.
Instead, Matty Roberts got a visit from the FBI, the Air Force has warned it is ready for anything and rural Lincoln County, Nevada, US, is preparing to declare a state of emergency.
In late June, Roberts, a 20-year-old from Bakersfield, posted his Facebook event: "Storm Area 51, They Can't Stop All of Us."
The idea was simple. Overwhelm the top-secret Nevada military site with people storming the gates in search of the truth behind conspiracy theories and television shows including The X-Files.
The post got little attention at first, but a few days later it started to go viral, and by mid-July more than 1 million people said on Facebook they were planning to attend.
The authorities soon heard about the plan and, were not happy. It wasn't long before Roberts began backpedalling.

I wonder if it will go ahead or not?

Spanish My Map

We are learning Spanish this term.  For our first task we had to create a Google My Map called “The Spanish Speaking World”.  On our map we had to locate and pin Spain and at least 10 other countries where Spanish is the official Language.  There is actually 21 countries in the world that have Spanish as their main language. For each pin we put in a fact and a photo for each country. Click on the markers to see my facts. This task was quite easy for me.

Whos that pest?

This week in reading me and my class were working on this "Who is that animal pest?" slide as an introduction to our reading topic. We had to read the clues and use the DOC website to solve the problems. Then we had to find a picture and 2-3 facts about each of the pest on the answer slide. I found this activity quite easy to do because I know alot about animals already.

Blog check

Today we reviewed our blogs. We looked at what we have been blogging about, what type of posts we have been creating and how many posts we have done. I found that I post things about Inquiry most and that I have not posted anything on maths so my goal is to post at least 3 maths post by term 4.
I have found that I post more things with photos and writing than any other things so my goal is to do more posts with slides in them.

Brunner mine site

Yesterday we went to the Brunner Mine as a class trip. We learnt so much history about this mine.
We had to dress up as a miner and the girls dressed up as the widows. In this photo we are standing beside a picture of the mines rescue team, Mrs Mears told us that the lamps that they are holding were the safest lamps to enter the mine with but they cut costs so some miners went down the mine with a naked flames which was very dangerous.

Visual Mihi 2019

This is my visual mihi for 2019.  It introduces me and where I am from.
Why have Auckland’s transport authority been removing Lime scooters from the city?

Last week the council in Auckland banned Lime scooters because some scooters seemed to have a fault.  Lots of people have been hurt by the serious fault where the front brake locks up without warning.  They are deciding today if they should ban them forever.

I think that it is a  good idea

What's been in the News this Week...

NZ polices are spending $20.7 million on new stronger and lighter and more customised body armour.

It is made to stop rifle rounds.

I think it is a good idea to spend this money on them because it protects the police who do an important job.
